Your own device. On your premises.
We supply and set up a dedicated device at your place — yours to keep, running on your own network. A bigger build upfront, a smaller ongoing cost, and the system lives with you.
Who it suits
- • You want the system and its data on your own premises, on hardware you own — not on someone else's infrastructure.
- • Ownership and control matter: your device, your network, your data.
- • A bigger one-off investment sits better than a larger ongoing commitment.
How it works
Skiply supplies a dedicated device, sets it up on-site at your place, and configures everything end to end — then it's yours to keep. A smaller management retainer keeps it maintained and updated as the platforms underneath it evolve, with your team doing as much or as little as suits.
The honest trade
- You get
- A device you own outright · the system on your own premises under your control · a smaller ongoing cost · a clean path to eventually running it yourselves.
- You accept
- A higher upfront cost (the device plus on-site setup) · the device lives with you to keep powered and connected · updates and improvements come through the retainer rather than automatically.
In the retainer
Platform updates and compatibility fixes · integration health monitoring · periodic tuning · support direct from the people who built it — sized to how much your own team takes on.
Common questions
What do I need to provide?
Not much — Skiply supplies the dedicated device and sets it all up on-site. You just need somewhere for it to live (a spot in the office or comms cupboard) and a reliable internet connection. During design we confirm the practicalities so there are no surprises on setup day.
Do I own everything outright?
Yes. The device is yours to keep, and the flows, prompts, integrations and documentation come with it. Skiply retains nothing you'd need to ask permission for. The support retainer keeps it healthy — it isn't a licence fee.
What does the support retainer cover?
Updates when the underlying platforms change (and they change often), monitoring integration health, fixes, and periodic tuning. It's deliberately smaller than the hosted retainer because the solution runs on your own device — it covers the expertise, not the hosting.
Can we take over maintenance ourselves eventually?
Yes, and the handover is designed for it: documented flows, named owners, and a transition period where your team runs it with Skiply as backup. Plenty of businesses start with a fuller retainer and dial it down as their team gets comfortable.
Why is the upfront cost higher than Skiply-hosted?
Because it includes a dedicated device and the on-site work to set it up and get it running on your network — plus documentation and training. You're buying hardware you own and a lighter ongoing cost in exchange for more upfront.
